LUACH MAIGH/CAISLEAIN LAIGHNIGH C.L.C.G.

U/21A Hurling: Our Mid final v Thurles Sarsfields was played at Templetuohy on Wednesday night 15th December.
While conditions and lighting were the same for both sides, from a supporters and spectators point of view one would seriously question the playing of such an important fixture under lights as it is certainly not possible to follow play at the opposite side of the field.
However, that said, both sides have to be complimented on a fine sporting encounter in which our side put up an excellent performance before losing our 0-11 to 0-09.
Having dominated most of the first half it was 0-05 each at the break. However with lights on and off in the second half, our opponents did not take the lead in the game until into injury time. We thank our players and management for the work carried out with this long running competition and wish Sarsfields the best of luck in the County semi final.
This game brought the curtain down on championship games for 2010 for our club. The Cahill cup semi final is to be fixed later.

A.G.M. The A.G.M. of the club will take place in Loughmore Community Centre on this Friday night, January 7th at 8.00pm. As this is the most important part in every club calander we request a large attendance to be present, particularly those interested in taking charge of teams in the coming year.

At the recent Mid board convention two of our players picked up football awards, with Ciaran McGrath taking senior footballer of the year and Liam McGrath taking young footballer of the year award. Our congratulations to both.
Jonathan Cullen as secretary and Batt O’ Dea as gate checker were also returned to office.

Juvenile Club: The juvenile convention will possibly take place on Thursday 13th January. It will be confirmed in next weeks issue.

U/21 Hurling: Following postponements of this fixture on various occasions it now goes ahead on this Friday night at 7.00pm sharp in Templetuohy. Extra time if necessary. All player to attend on time.

Mid Convention: Club representatives please note the Mid convention now starts with mass at 8.30pm in Templetuohy(Note change).

Scor na nOg: At the recent Mid final held in Loughmore Community Centre, with a fine attendance we had final winners in instrumental music and question time. They now go forward to the County finals to be held on this Friday night December 10th in Halla na Feile, Cashel at 7.30pm. We say hard luck to all who participated and put in a fine effort despite defeat.

U/21 Hurling: Our replay of the U/21 A hurling Mid semi final v Holycross fixed for The Ragg On Sunday last fell victim of the inclement weather conditions.
At time or writing this has a re-fixture for Friday night 3rd December with a 7.30pm start under lights in Templetuohy. If successful the mid final is fixed for Sunday December 5th in The Ragg at 2.oopm v Thurles Sarsfields. With bad weather forecast all week please check fixture.

Speedy Recovery: We wish a speedy recovery to Cian Hennessy who underwent surgery on a hand injury during the week.

Best wishes: Our best wisher to former player and present senior team mentor Noel Morris who marries this Saturday. We wish Noel and Lisa many years of health and happiness in married life.

U/21A Hurling: Our U/21A hurling Mid semi final replay v Holycross is set for Saturday evening next at 7.30pm in Templetuohy under lights. Having had chances at different stages in the drawn encounter we hope this time around we can do enough to qualify for the Mid final. All panel to be on time. Extra time in the event of a draw.

Life Time Membership: Don’t forget our Life Time Membership at 500 euro is still open. Also our Buy a Brick scheme for 100 euro to help our fundraising for our now almost complete new facilities in Cuiguilla. Please support.

Cahill Cup: On Sunday morning at 11.30am in Templetuohy we play the home side in Cahill cup. Having a few victories so far in this competition we hope we can take continue where we left off and gain victory.
