Minor Football: On Wednesday evening last in Templetuohy our minor footballers captured the A football Mid final with a 1-12 to 1-02 victory over Moycarkey.
Despite the score line at the finish this was a pretty tough struggle all through and at half time we led 1-04 to 1-01. A more polished second half performance yielded scores that put daylight between the sides and retention of their Mid title.
The O’ Keefe cup was presented to captain Liam Treacy by Mid chairman Matty Ryan amid screams of jubilation by team mates, mentors and supporters.
Minor Hurling: A five day turn around as well as some players involved with Tipperary U/16 team at the weekend was the order of our minor hurlers who faced Thurles Sarsfields in the Mid final at The Ragg on Monday evening last.
In a repeat of last years thrilling encounter, this was again a fantastic final with the lead changing hands on various occasions. At half time we trailed 1-09 to 1-08 and were pipped by a late point from Sarsfields on the score 1-19 to 1-18.
We say hard luck to the boys and mentors who put in a huge effort all year and wish Sarsfields every success in the County semi final.
Life Membership: Once again we make a strong appeal for patrons to become life members of the club for 500 euro. This project is aimed at defraying costs for our new facilities in Cuituilla which are now almost completed and will provide not only for our present players but for the youth in years to come.
