LUACH MAIGH/CAISLEAIN LAIGHNIGH C.L.C.G.

Senior Football:  On Monday evening last our senior footballers cleared a massive hurdle in round two of the County open draw championship, when at Cashel they defeated a strongly fancied Aherlow side 1-08 to 0-06.
Playing a tight brand of football they never allowed the opposition to open up play, thus making amends for our County semi final defeat of last year by the Glen boys.  The incentive to win a divisional title is now huge as it would put you in a  County semi final.  Well done to all.

Minor Hurling:  Our team were defeated by a point by Thurles Sarsfields on Wednesday evening last in Thurles.

Junior Hurling:  We were defeated by Templetuohy on Saturday evening last in Templetuohy, despite a valiant effort.  We now at least must win our remaining two games to stay in contention.

County Hurling League:  In division one of the County league we still remain with just one defeat when we overcame J K Brackens in a high scoring encounter in Templemore.  It is expected that semi finals will be played in this competition.

Fund Raising:  Work for Rehab Care(Autism) commenced on Saturday last.  We continue on this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  A large amount of collectors are required for those days.  All report to committed to declare your availability (most important).

Speedy Recovery:  Our club stalwart Sean Mockler has returned to hospital where we wish him a speedy recovery to health.

Sympathy:  Many of our parishioners suffered bereavements in the past week.  Our sympathy to all concerned R.I.P.

Fixtures:  Senior hurling Riain Cup on this Friday night in Borrisoleigh at 7.00pm.  We face Moneygall in what is a do or die game to remain in the championship contention.  All players to be on time as appointed.
Minor Hurling:  Wednesday 4th August at 7.00pm in Templetuohy v Moycarkey/Borris.

Juvenile Club:  Activity Week: Our activity week commences on Monday August 2nd running to Friday August 6th from 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
The cost is 25 euro for 1st child, 20 euro for 2nd child and 15euro for third child.  This is always and excellent week for our children of the parish so come along.

LUACH MAIGH/CAISLEAIN AOIBHNE C.L.C.G.

Junior Football:  On Tuesday night last in Castleiney our junior footballers virtually put and end to their championship run with a second defeat tin the group, this time by 1-16 to 1-07 to Drom.  For various reasons we have failed to field at full strength and thus paid the price.

Senior Football:  On Friday night last in Templemore our senior football team got the defence of their Mid title away to a winning start by defeating Templetuohy 1-09 to 1-06 with a varied performance over the hour.
An early goal certainly laid the cushion for victory as the margin withstood throughout the game.  We now face J K Brackens for a place in the Mid final.

Minor Hurling:  On this Wednesday evening July 21st we face Thurles Sarsfields in the outside field at 7.30pm.  All panel to attend.

Junior Hurling:  On next Saturday July 24th at 7.30pm in Templetuohy we face the home side in a game we must win to keep in touch in the championship.

Launch:  On Saturday night last in Loughmore Community Centre our bucket collection, this year for Rehab Care(Autism) was officially launched with a good attendance present.  Our thanks to the members of Rehab Care for their visit and to the ladies committee for the refreshments supplied and served.  The collection dates commence with Thurles, Templemore and Roscrea on Saturday 24th July and continues on 29th, 30th 31st and August 1st.  A lot of help is required for this worthy cause.

Presentation:  Our thanks to Paddy Stapleton, Laha, Castleiney for his recent presentation of playing equipment to the club which was greatly appreciated.

Juvenile Club:  Our U/12 players visited Croke Park on Wednesday last with in excess of 60 players in attendance.  A great day was had by all and perhaps some day some of them will grace the G.A.A. headquarters on All Ireland day in some grade or other.  Well done to all.

Activity Week:  Our annual activity week will run from Monday August 2nd to Friday August 6th from 2.00pm to 5.00pm in Cuiguilla.  This is always a great week for the youngsters of the parish.  The following fees apply:  25 euro for 1st child, 20 euro for 2nd child and 15 euro for 3rd child.  Supervision in place.

LUACH MAIGH/CAISLEAIN LAIGHNIGH C.L.C.G.

Minor Hurling:  On Wednesday night last in Castleiney our minor A hurlers commenced the defence of the Mid and County titles with a 2-17 to 1-11 victory over Drom.
This was a hard fought victory and at times we seemed to lose control of the game, however with a better balanced side we finished quite well for an important victory in a four team group in which the top team goes into the final.

Hard Luck:  We say hard luck to Ciaran McGrath who had a fine game at wing back for the Tipperary footballers v Dublin at the weekend.

Launch Night:  On this Saturday night at 8.45pm in Loughmore Community Centre the launch for our bucket collection in aid of our club development and Rehab Care will take place.  As previously stated this venture requires a much needed push on this occasion and we expect a good attendance on the night.  Refreshments will be served.  The good ladies are asked to supply the usual confectionary and help on the night.

County Board Draw:  Our congratulations to Philip and Patricia Brennan, Aughall who were third prize winners in July draw of 3000.00 euro.

Sympathy:  Our sympathy to Tess McGrath, Lisheen on the passing of her sister at the weekend.

Wedding Bells:  Our congratulations to former player Philip Kennedy who was married recently.  We wish him and his bride many years of health and happiness.

Fixtures:  The following important fixtures for the club are:
Friday July 16th at 7.45pm in Templemore Mid senior football v Templetohy.
Monday 19th July in Cashel at 7.00pm County senior football round 2 v Aherlow.
Wednesday 21st July minor hurling at 7.30pm (outside field) v Thurles Sarsfields.

Speedy Recovery:  We wish Sean Mockler a speedy recovery from a recent illness and a quick return to the playing grounds of division and County.
