LUACH MAIGH/CAISLEAIN LAIGHNIGH C.L.C.G.
Due to County teams involvement the club had no games over the weekend with many of our players involved in some County panel or another. We wish one and all every success with the various teams and hope they will have an injury free and successful campaign.
Senior Football: Our senior footballers commence their championship trail at the weekend when they face Clonmel Commercials in first round open draw in Boherlahan at 2.00pm(check time). In recent years this fixture has been some what of a stumbling block in so far as being unable to field at full strength for various reasons. This year is no exception with some players nursing injuries. However we hope the lads can lift the tempo and gain what would be a valuable victory. All panel to be in dressing rooms at 1.15pm sharp.
Minor Football: On Wednesday night week May 5th at 7.15pm in Templemore we face Thurles Sarsfields in the Mid semi final. Having had impressive victories so far in this grade one hopes that we can continue the good work and gain a Mid final spot. All panel to be on time in dressing rooms.
Juvenile Club: Presently all our teams are in league section of the championship with all our teams going well in their section. See Bord na nOg fixtures diary.

Junior Hurling: On Friday evening last in Gortnahoe our junior A hurling team were pipped by the home side 0-14 to 207 in Mid division 1 league game.
This was a hard fought game from start to finish with both sides giving their all with the outcome decided with the last puck of the game.
Senior Hurling League: On Sunday afternoon last in Littleton our hurlers gained a second victory from three outings with a fully deserved 0-22 to 0-17 victory over Moycarkey. In a fine first half performance, thirteen first class points were put on the board to Moycarkey’s 0-06. We maintained our grip on the game in the second half with a big step up in our shooting standards from the previous Sunday a huge welcome.
Fixtures: This Wednesday 21st April in Castleiney minor A football v J K Brackens at 7.30pm.
It is expected we will be engaged in senior football very soon. We ask all players along with our junior players to attend training on appointed nights.

Senior Hurling: At sun drenched The Ragg on Sunday afternoon our senior hurlers faced Holycross in the first round group game of the Mid championship.
Atlhough putting more scores on the board it still ended in a 2.09 to 0-13 defeat that will put us under pressure.(See Report)
As we are now aware a lot of hard word must be done in the coming weeks. We now face J K Brackens in the next round knowing that only victory will be sufficient.
Minor Football: Our minor footballers continue their title chase chalking up their third victory with a five point victory over Moycarkey.
U/21A Football: On Wednesday evening last in Templemore our U/21 footballers were defeated 1-09 to 0-08 after extra time in the County semi final following a very good game of quality football. (See Report). With some very young players on board this was a gallant performance throughout normal and extra time against a very good Tipperary town side to whom we wish well in the County final.
Our thanks to all the panel, manager, mentors and trainer for an excellent effort.
